Hey Warren, I will call you and raise $1000
January 12th, 2012 by Wadical WeftHey Warren Buffett don’t just limit your United States of America debt Reduction payments to the members of the U.S. Congress, but also match 99%’ers who want to keep their country strong. That would be a significant contribution.
I’m probably a 5%’er. I’ll will pay $1000 for United States of America debt reduction if you match my contribution.

Maybe what should happen is that each Congressperson should match the donations of the folks in their district. They could fund raise to collect the funds if they didn`t want to pay out of pocket. Donations would NOT be tax deductable of course.
It could be labeled Fund for America or some such.

And Warren has a taker.
“…Rigell said he would be making a 15% gift to the Treasury this year, but also hoped that Buffett would retroactively match his 2011 contribution. The amounts would be about $23,000 for 2011 (when some clerical errors resulted in the full 15% not being reached) and about $26,000 for 2012.
Buffett…would indeed match both amounts…To the Congressman’s question about what documentation he should send to prove his payments, Buffett said don’t bother: “Your word’s good enough for me.”…” Full Slice
