An opportunity to preserve
January 5th, 2009 by SecureCare“Cloning animals by nuclear transfer provides an opportunity to preserve endangered mammalian species…Here we report production of cloned mice from bodies kept frozen at −20 °C for up to 16 years without any cryoprotection…Thus, nuclear transfer techniques could be used to “resurrect” animals or maintain valuable genomic stocks from tissues frozen for prolonged periods without any cryopreservation.” Full Slice

They just happened to find some old frozen mice and decided to try doing something. Turns out that brain cells were the best supply for nuclei.
So when we have our heads cut off and
turned into catfoodstored in liquid nitrogen, we may not preserve our memories but rather our genetic heritage may be preservable.
